A big villa with Pool right by Canal du Midi
In the little village of Poilhes, You will find our modernly refurbished house with pool and garden. The village is surronded by vineyards and is situated in the South of France in the Occitaine region. The fascinating Canal du Midi, with a lot of boats passing by, goes right through the village. With just 800 inhabitants it offers 3 restaurants and a small shop for the necessities.
We are a retired couple from Sweden that, since the fall of 2019 have had this house as our ”home away from home”. During fall and winter we try to spend several weeks in Poilhes. During the spring and summer weeks we would love to give You the possibility of a fantastic stay in the South of France, by renting our villa

The house is 200m2 divided in 2 floors. Entering from the street You come in to a big hallway. Here is the ground floor master bedroom with twin beds.You will pass WC and bathroom with shower on Your way into the big livingroom with adjoining kitchen. The kitchen is fitted with induction hob, refrigerator/freezer, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine. In the utility room You find an extra refrigerator. Livingroom with TV, sitting area and dining table opens up to the paved patio with furniture for alfresco dining. Here You find the fenced pool area surronded by artificial grass, lemon tree, ivy hedges and other greenery. Throuh a white gate You reach the driveway where You can park Your car. The house offers Wi-Fi.
On the first floor there is a separate WC and a bathroom with shower and bathtub. One bedroom with french grandlit 140cm, one with twinbeds, one with 2 separate beds and finally a room with 2 sofa beds with space for 4 persons. Big wardrobs in all 4 rooms. Here is also an entrance onto the big south facing roof terrace with views over the village.

Bathroom / WC
There’s one bathrooom and one WC on each floor.
Checkin & Checkout
Checkin after agreement, preferably afternoon. The keys are provided in a key box and caretaker will attend the following day. The house is rented saturday-saturday or by agreement.
Deposit
We will charge a deposit of 500€ that will be returned upon departure after the caretaker has checked the house.

Location & Nearby Attractions
Within a few miles there are a lot of restaurants, vineyards local markets and shops.
Restaurants
In Poilhes you’ll find three restaurants with different offerings. In the villages nearby (within 5 km from the house) there are a big selection of eating possibilities.
Day trips
The medival town of Beziers with a Cathedral, the famous locks of Canal du Midi, markets, shops, restaurants and a lovely market hall is just 20km away.
Many small villages with local markets during the weeks like Pezenas, Capestang and Saint-Chinian.
Aigues-Mortes is an old fortified medieval village about one hour away.
Carcassone with it’s medival fort is also about one hour away.
Bathing and beaches
The Mediterranean is just 30 min by car away from the house. There are many long sandy beaches like Valras Plage, Portiragnes Plage and several others. You can also swim in the lovely river Orb.
Vineyards
In Poilhes there is a Wine bar called Vinauberge where you can try local wines.
The vinery Domaine de Bel Air is one of many local vineyards we can recommend
Communications
The closest airport is Béziers Cap d’Agde Airport which Ryanair has frequent flights to and from. This is about 20 minutes away
Montpellier International Airport is just one hour drive away and have flights with Air France/KLM.
Toulouse is also an option although that’s about 1,5 hours away from the house.
From Beziers there are many train connections to Paris, Barcelona and Nice etc
Biking & Hiking
There are many scenic routes through the vineyards and even more challenging routes in the surrounding mountains.
